The Marussia Formula One Team are on the verge of a surprise return to Formula One after FRP Advisory, the administrator appointed to oversee the sale of the team confirmed that new investors have paid the 2015 FIA entry fee.

It is expected that the team will exit administration and enter a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) on February 19.

It was confirmed at the end of last year that if either Marussia or Caterham could make it onto the grid in 2015 they would be allowed to run their 2014 cars, however such a situation would need unanimous approval from all the other teams and the FIA.

It is unclear who the new investors are however it has been reported that the new investor is NOT McLaren after it was previously suggested that the Woking based outfit were set to purchase the team.
