Caterham drivers won't be replaced this season as long as they perform

Caterham team principal Christijan Albers has confirmed that his drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson will retain their seats for the remainder of this season. The former Grand Prix driver has stated that as long as both drivers perform they will remain with the team until the end of the current Formula One campaign. Caterham have yet to score a Formula One point however their chief rivals Marussia has scored two point's this season and currently in ninth place in the Constructors championship.

Albers has confirmed that the team are already working hard on their 2015 car and they also have a major upgrade package for this seasons car for the next race, the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa Francorchamps in just over two weeks time.

Albers admitted that two week Summer shutdown does not help the development process but that when they come back from holiday the team will be working extremely hard to ensure that they can make the most of the new parts on the car. The Leafield based outfit are currently in 12th place in the Constructors championship due to the fact that they have finished behind Sauber in a number of Grand Prix this season. The Swiss based squad are the only other team who have yet to score a point this season.

Kamui Kobayashi has stated that he doesn't know what the future has in store for him but also feels that the new owners of the team don't know what the future holds.
