Szafnauer delighted with driver pairing

(Sahara Force India Formula One Team)

Sahara Force India F1 Team's Chief Operating Officer Otmar Szafnauer has described the Silverstone based outfit's driver pairing of Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez as 'brilliant'. Szafnauer described the teams long standing relationship with Hulkenberg as very good and feels that the German is 'very intelligent' and is great at providing technical feedback to the team which has enabled them to go down a specific route in relation to the development of the VJM07.

The Hulk has scored points in all but one Grand Prix this season while Sergio Perez gave the team their first podium in five years when he finished the Bahrain night race in third place. The team have one of the strongest power units on the grid this season as they have continued their partnership with Mercedes Benz for this season and that is a long standing agreement which will remain in place for many years.

Sahara Force India are currently in fifth place in the Constructors championship on 98 points just one ahead of McLaren Mercedes and 37 behind the Williams Martini Racing Team who are in fourth place.

Szafnauer has also been very impressed with how well Sergio Perez has fitted into the team having joined from McLaren over the Winter. The Mexican is currently in eleventh place in the championship on 29 points.
The team will along with the rest of the grid bring a major upgrade package to their car for the next in Spa Francorchamps in Belgium in just over two weeks time.

Szafnauer's praise of his drivers comes after team boss Dr Vijay Mallya revealed recently that Sahara Force India will retain their current line up for the 2015 season.
