Reports in the Dutch media have suggested that the Sauber F1 Team are set to promote their test and reserve driver Giedo Van Der Garde to a full time race seat for the 2015 Formula One season. Van Der Garde joined the Swiss based outfit this season after losing losing his race seat with the Caterham F1 Team at the end of last season.

The Dutch driver was in action for the Sauber team during Free Practice One at last weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at the Spa Francorchamps circuit where he drove in place of Esteban Gutierrez.

The report in the Dutch media has even suggested that Van Der Garde could be in lie to replace German Adrian Sutil later this season as Esteban Gutierrez's team mate however this has yet to be confirmed by the team. It is not the first time that speculation has emerged about Adrian Sutil's seat at the team.

Earlier this season it was reported that Sauber were looking to replace Sutil however the team denied that this was the case.

The team are also evaluating their other test drivers Simona De Silvestro and Russian Sergey Siroktin. De Silvestro has been undergoing an intensive test programme with the team in recent months and will be back in the car in Austin Texas at the Circuit of the Americas later this season.
