The Sauber F1 Team's Esteban Gutierrez has confirmed that he has opened contract talks with his current outfit aswell as a number of the other teams in relation to a drive for the 2015 Formula One season. The Mexican is out of contract with the Swiss outfit at the end of the season and has yet to score a point so far this season.

In 2013 his debut season in Formula One with the Sauber F1 Team Gutierrez scored six points for the Swiss based outfit when he finished the Japanese Grand Prix in 7th place.

Where ever the Mexican ends up next season he will bring sponsorship from Mexican telecommunications giant Telemex who currently sponsor the Sauber team. They joined the outfit in 2011 when Sergio Perez entered the sport. The company then elected to remain with the Sauber team in 2013 when Sergio Perez moved to McLaren Mercedes as he was replaced by countryman Esteban Gutierrez.

Gutierrez has confirmed that he and his management team are currently in a stage of 'assessment' as they want to find the best possible situation for the Mexican.

Gutierrez has confirmed that the Sauber F1 Team are happy with his current performances and want to continue.

Gutierrez is looking forward to racing at his Grand Prix in Mexico City next season as the sport will return there for the first time since 1992 when Nigel Mansell took victory and went on to win the championship that year.
