Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has stated that after a string of sensational performances he considers Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver and rival Daniel Ricciardo as one of the best drivers on the Formula One grid. The Australian has outperformed team mate and reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel this season. (His first as a Red Bull Racing driver).

Ricciardo is currently in third place in the drivers championship and is the only non Mercedes driver to have won Grand Prix this season having taken victory in Canada and last time out at the Hungaroring.

Hamilton believes that Ricciardo is going from 'Strength to strength' and has described the Aussie as 'one of the nicest guys in the paddock.' Daniel Ricciardo not only leads team mate Sebastian Vettel in the championship but he also leads the quadruple world champion 7-4 in the qualifying head to head inter team battle.

Ricciardo is currently 16 points ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in the championship standings with eight Grand Prix left following the Summer break.
