Mercedes AMG F1 Team's Executive Director (Technical) Paddy Lowe believes that he has taken the Brackley based outfit 'to the next level' after taking over the technical reigns at the team from Ross Brawn who retired from Formula One last December. Lowe joined Mercedes from rivals McLaren in June of last year and has played a crucial role in the teams dominance in 2014 which has seen the team win nine of the first eleven Grand Prix.
Lowe has credited his predecessor Ross Brawn for laying the building blocks for the teams currently success in Formula One. He believes that he has augmented certain processing in the technical operation of the team and filled the gaps where Brawn had missed.
Lowe has revealed that he can't remember what happened in December and that the team look forward to the next race's and not what has happened in the past. Mercedes first victory came while Brawn was still with the team in Monaco last season when Nico Rosberg won the race ahead of Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
Since then the team have taken ten victories as Hamilton took his first win for the team in Hungary last season.
Since taking over the outfit in 2010 when they finished the season in fourth place in the Constructors championship. In 2011 the team once again finished the championship in fourth place albeit having scored less points then the previous season. In 2012 the Silver Arrows finished the season in fifth place.
Last season the team finished the championship best of the rest behind Red Bull Racing. this season unless something exceptionally out of the ordinary happens the team look set to take a commanding victory in the championship. The currently lead chief rivals Infiniti Red Bull Racing by 174 points which means that if their form continues they will wrap up the Constructors championship by the Singapore Grand Prix.
