The Marussia F1 Team's Max Chilton is hopeful that he will be able to stay at the Banbury based outfit next season. The team are currently in 9th place in the Constructors championship following Jules Bianchi's 9th place finish at the Monaco Grand Prix earlier this season. Despite being outpaced on a regular basis by team mate and Ferrari young driver Jules Bianchi, Chilton is hopeful that in the second half of the season that he will be able to get ahead of Bianchi.
If Marussia are able to hold onto 9th place in the Constructors championship they will receive a large sum of money for scoring two points this season.
Chilton confirmed that he brought investment to the team for the 2014 season and was only announced as a driver with the team for a second season at this year's Autosport International Show in Birmingham in January.
Chilton believes that the team are able to finish the season in 9th place he may not need to bring money to the team.
The Englishman's best result so far this season was a 13th place finish at the opening race of the season in Australia while he also finished the Bahrain Grand Prix in 13th place. The team are expecting to have a big upgrade package for their car for the Singapore Grand Prix next month but they will also have some minor updates for the next race at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Chilton has admitted that he has yet to sit down with the team to discuss a contract for next season.
