McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier has confirmed that the team will continue the development of the MP4-29 car into the second half of the season despite making the switch to Honda power from next season onwards. Boullier has the described the MP4-29 as a 'laboratory' for next season's car. The team are currently in 6th place in the Constructors championship on 97 point's just one point behind the Sahara Force India team.

Last season the Woking based outfit failed to secure a podium however so far in 2014 they have two podium's which came at the very first race in Melbourne as Kevin Magnussen finished the race in 2nd placee while Jenson Button finished 3rd.

With the regulations set to stay the same next season Boullier has confirmed that despite planning the chassis around a different power unit the 'pick up points will remain the same' for the MP4-30.

Boullier has confirmed that the team will bring a major upgrade package to the MP4-29 for the next race at the iconic Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium in just over two week's time. The team will also have an upgrade for the Singapore night race in September.
