It's official Ferrari will retain both Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso for the 2015 Formula One season the outfit's team principal confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports F1 commentator Martin Brundle. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the pairs future with the team following a difficult start to the 2014 season which has seen the team score just two podium finishes.

When asked if the two driver's would be with the team next season Mattiacci replied with a simple and emphatic 'yes'.

Raikkonen who returned to the team already had a contract in place with the team for next season is currently in 12th place in the championship on 27 points following a difficult start to the season however the Finn who returned to the team at the start of this season following two years with the Lotus F1 Team scored his best result of the season last time out in Hungary when he finished the race in 6th place.

The Iceman will start the Belgian Grand Prix from 8th place on the grid after admitting that he had made a number of mistakes on his final run in Q3 but the Finn is looking forward to the race and is happy with the progress that the team have made so far this weekend.

Meanwhile Fernando Alonso who had been linked with a move back to McLaren for next season will also stay at Ferrari next season. The Spaniard has a deal in place with the team until the end of the 2016 season and it had been suggested that double world champion had been looking at his options.

Alonso has been with Ferrari since 2010 and has failed to win the championship in that time but has stated recently that he would like to remain with the team.

He is the only driver left on the on 2014 grid to have scored points in every Grand Prix so far this season and will start the Belgian Grand Prix from fourth place on the grid alongside reigning world champion, Infiniti Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel.

When asked about the outfit's plan for 2016 Mattiacci refused to discuss it as he said that his main focus was on the Belgian Grand Prix.
