Ferrari head to this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at the Spa Francorchamps circuit following their best combined result last time out at the Hungarian Grand Prix where Fernando Alonso finished the race on the podium in second place while Kimi Raikkonen scored his best result since his return to Ferrari with a 6th place finish.
The Italian team have endured a difficult first half of the 2014 season and will be looking to carry the momentum from the Hungaroring across to the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend. For Raikkonen the circuit is his favourite due to the old style nature of the circuit and the fast straights and corners like Eau Rouge although the Finn admits that the hairpin at turn one is a bit tricky.
The last time the Iceman raced for Ferrari in Spa Francorchamps was in 2009 a race which he won. The Finn has a great record in Belgium as he has won there on four occasions twice for Ferrari and twice for McLaren and although it is unlikely that he will be in a position to challenge for a victory this weekend he is hopeful that he can score a big haul of points for the Italian team.
Fernando Alonso on the other hand doesn't ave the best record in Spa Francorchamps with a number of retirements and a number of ten finishes including a second place finish there last season behind race winner Sebastian Vettel. Alonso has never won in Belgium but he, Raikkonen and the team have worked extremely hard and will like all the other teams bring a major upgrade to the race for the F14-T.
Ferrari will be hoping that they will be able to stay ahead of Williams Martini Racing in the Constructors championship. The Italian outfit are currently seven points ahead of the Grove based outfit.
