The Marussia F1 Team's Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon has confirmed that his outfit will wait until December before making an announcement about their driver line up for the 2015 season. The Banbury based outfit have had a strong first half to the 2014 season with Jules Bianchi having scored the teams first ever Formula One point's when he finished the Monaco Grand Prix ninth place scoring two points.
The team are currently in ninth place in the Constructors championship ahead of the Sauber F1 Team and the Caterham F1 Team. Lowdon has described both of their drivers as 'doing a great job.'
This year has seen the team utilize a customer supply of Ferrari power units and the outfit has been extremely happy with the relationship that they have with the Italian team's engine department. They have a group of Ferrari engine and gearbox technicians who work solely alongside the Banbury based outfit at all Grand Prix.
Their driver Jules Bianchi is part of the Ferrari Young Driver Programme and this is why the Frenchman was called upon to replace the injured Kimi Raikkonen during the Silverstone in-season test last month.
This has lead to speculation that the Italian team are seeking to promote the Frenchman to a Ferrari drive in the future. Both Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso are currently contracted to the Italian team for the foreseeable future.
Lowdon has also stated that the team want to wait and see how the rest of the 2014 season plays out before making a decision about their line-up.
Ahead of the start of the 2014 season Max Chilton was only officially confirmed as a Marussia driver at the Autosport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham in January.
