Raikkonen currently fastest on the final day of the opening winter test in Jerez

Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen is currently the fastest driver as the final day of the opening winter test gets underway in Jerez. The Finn’s fastest time is currently a 1m 22.537s and has completed over 30 laps.

Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was second fastest for a time until a mechanical issue brought his W06 to a stop out on track. However the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team were able to get the double world champion back out on track and his is currently in second place just 1.096s behind Raikkonen’s SF15-T.

Max Verstappen is currently in third place in the STR10, 1.616s behind the Ferrari of Raikkonen. Marcus Ericsson continued the Sauber F1 Team’s great progress as the Swedish driver is currently in fourth place in the C34, 1m 25.081s.

The Lotus F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean has just jumped up to third place behind Lewis Hamilton. The Frenchman, who is taking part in his day of testing the new E23 set a time of 1m 23.802s and has completed 49 laps so far today. Felipe Massa is currently sixth fastest for the Williams Martini Racing Team with a time of 1m 25.136s.

McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button is currently in seventh place in the MP4-30 with a fastest time of 1m 30.706s and has completed 7 laps so far.

It has been a difficult day so far for Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Daniil Kvyat as the Russian is currently at the bottom of the time sheets after the RB11 stopped out on track at Turn 11. Kvyat has completed eight laps so far today.
