Former Formula One turned World Endurance Championship driver Mark Webber has no recollection of the horrific crash he suffered during Sunday's World Endurance Championship season finale in Sao Paulo.

The former Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver who retired from Formula One at the end of the 2013 season was involved in a crash in the closing stages of the 6 Hours of Brazil race on Sunday which saw his Porsche 919 Hybrid Prototype completely destroyed. The Australian who was running in sixth place at the time of the crash escaped the accident with bruising and concussion.

Webber has just taken to Twitter to say:

'Yesterday I was a lucky boy. The correct angle of impact saved me. Thanks everybody for your incredible messages and support. #recovering.'
