Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has confirmed that his relationship with Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 team mate Nico Rosberg is now back to normal following the intense battle that the pair had challenging for this year's world championship. Hamilton was crowned champion after taking victory at the Formula One season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Speaking at the Mercedes Stars and Cars event over the weekend Hamilton said that the pair took part in a filming day following the title show down in Abu Dhabi and that the tension from the season had completely disappeared and that they were discussing normal things that guys talk about.

Hamilton is due to sit down with Mercedes management to come up with a new long term contract for the World champion who has a year to run on his current deal with the Silver Arrows.

Hamilton has stated that he wants to remain with the team and although there was tension with Nico Rosberg this season the pair work extremely well together. The world champion stated that he never had ambitions to join Ferrari. He joked that he can buy a red Mercedes road car as they look nice in red.

Nico Rosberg signed a new 'long term' contract with Mercedes in July and Mercedes Motorsport boss Toto Wolff is hopeful that the team can do a similar deal with Hamilton.
