(Ben Johnston 2013)
Wow!! Things have just gone from bad to worse for the Lotus F1 Team as it has emerged that their team principal Eric Boullier has left the Enstone based squad with immediate affect. The Frenchman, who led the team to fourth in the Constructors championship last year will be replaced by time CEO Gerard Lopez who will continue in his role on the team board of management.
The news comes just days after it was announced that the team's chief engineer Ciaron Pilbeam have left after just a year at the team and has joined McLaren.
Sky Sports are reporting this morning that in a sensational move they are expecting Boullier to be announced as Martin Whitmarsh's replacement as McLaren team boss but we will have to wait and see what happens. The Woking based squad will launch their new car the MP4-29 later today.
I will have more on this developing story later.
