Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that he is interested in purchasing the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.
Speaking to the media in Germany the 83 year old confirmed that he has submitted a bid for the circuit and is hopefully to have some news in relation to the bid in the coming weeks.
Prior to the arrival of the Valencia circuit on the Formula One calendar in 2008 the Nurburgring was the the European Grand Prix and alternated with the Hockenheim ring. This is an on going agreement between the two circuits and when asked if he were to be successful in his bid to purchase the circuit Mr Ecclestone confirmed that they are happy to continue with this arrangement.
