Ron Dennis appointed Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Group

McLaren have confirmed that former team principal Ron Dennis has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the McLaren Group. 

Ron's new appointment means that he replaces current CEO and McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh who previously held the role. In confirming his reappointment at the team Dennis said that he has been mandated by the board to help improve the team's on and off track performances and that he will implement a new strategy for the team in February.

It is unclear what Mr Dennis' re appointment means for the teams current team principal Martin Whitmarsh. 

Since his departure from the team in 2009 Ron has been focussing on building the teams car brand McLaren Automotive.
