Williams confirm they will attend the opening winter test

The Williams F1 Team have become the latest outfit to confirm that they will attend the opening test of the 2014 preseason test in Jerez in just over two weeks time.

The majority of the teams on the grid have confirmed they will attend with the Lotus F1 Team so far the only team to confirm they will not attend the test in Spain.

It is odd that with 15 days until the opening test that we have only had four teams confirming that they will attend the Jerez test.

McLaren, Mercedes, Caterham and Williams will be there and we'll probably hear from more teams in the coming days.

The Marussia F1 Team also confirmed at Autosport on Saturday that they will also be in attendance at the test.

Sauber's Adrian Sutil has said that he feels that the fact that Lotus will miss the first test is not ideal.

However Lotus could gain an advantage over their rivals as they will be able to monitor what the other teams are doing.

For Williams, it will be the first time that Felipe Massa drive for his new team.
