Caterham look to experience amid rumors Kobayashi could make a return to F1

Following the announcement today that Caterham will unveil their 2014 car on the morning of the opening test of the preseason in Jerez on January 28th the team have also confirmed that they seeking an experienced driver for this season.

It is believed that former Toyota and Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi could be a potential candidate to join the Leafield based team. The Japanese driver is currently employed by Ferrari.

It is believed that former Caterham driver Heikki Kovalainen could also be in the running to return to the team this season after replacing Kimi Raikkonen at the Lotus F1 Team for the last races of the 2013 F1 season.

The new regulations being introduced for this season mean that teams should be looking for experienced drivers that will enable them to be competitive this season.

I think that a pairing such as Heikki and Kamui would be fantastic for the Leafield outfit. I also think that the team will be in a position to score points this year if they have at least one experienced driver on their books.

It is also believed that the teams current driver's Charles Pic and Giedo Van Der Garde are also in the running to drive for the team this season.

With just under three weeks to go until the start of preseason testing Caterham are the only team left on the grid to name their line up for 2014. However, the team confirmed today that they expected to announce the drivers shortly and that they would certainly be announced before 9AM on January 28 the day 2014 testing gets underway. Who would you like to see drive for team?
