Just hours after announcing the departure of their team principal the Lotus F1 Team took to Twitter to release an image of their 2014 car the E22.

News broke this morning that the Frenchman had left the team and just moments after McLaren unveiled their new car Lotus followed the lead of Force India and Williams by revealing the new Lotus. The colour scheme of the Lotus means that it is actually a very nice looking car however it is what will happen on track and not what the car looks like that matters most.

Lotus have decided to show an image of their new car despite the fact that they will miss the opening test of the new season which gets underway on Tuesday in Jerez they are the only team on the grid who will miss the opening test.

Since last season, the Enstone based squad has b has been raided by other teams starting with the departure of technical director James Allison who moved to Ferrari. Kimi Raikkonen was next to go as he left the team to rejoin Ferrari from this season. The team's Head of Aerodynamics Dirk De Beer left the team to join Ferrari. Earlier this week the team lost their chief engineer, Ciaron Pilbeam to McLaren and now by far the biggest blow to the team team is the departure of team principal Eric Boullier.
