Playing the number's game

Formula One is introducing individual driver numbers from this season and McLaren's Jenson Button and Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo are the latest to announce their numbers.

Jenson will use 22, the same number that he had when he won the championship with Brawn GP in 2009. Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed that he will use the number 3 in his first season with Red Bull Racing.

Jenson and Daniel aren't the only driver's to have confirmed their numbers for this season. Sebastian Vettel will once again carry number 1 as it has been reserved for the previous years champion. Kevin Magnussen will carry the number 20 on his McLaren MP4-29.

Meanwhile, both Ferrari driver's Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso have confirmed their numbers for this year. Kimi will use the number 7, which is a coveted number in sport, Eric Cantana had the number 7 on his shirt at Manchester United as did David Beckham.

During her time with Andretti Autosport, Danica Patrick had the number 7 in IndyCar and during her first season in NASCAR she used the number 7.

The idea of individual numbers is a fantastic idea and I can't wait to find out what numbers the rest of the grid will use this season.
