McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen has revealed how delighted he is to have Jenson Button as his team mate during his rookie season in Formula One with the Woking based outfit after replacing Sergio Perez at the team. The Dane is hopeful that Button will sign a contract renewal with the team into their new partnership with Honda which will get underway in 2015.

Magnussen has insisted that Button is not his mentor and is just his team mate and that is the relationship that they have. Together they have scored 97 points this season with Magnussen having scored a podium in his very first Grand Prix Down Under in Albert Park Melbourne in March.

Magnussen went on to say that he has learnt a lot from the work that Button has done with the team this season and has used that this season.

The Dane was part of McLaren's Young Driver Programme along with Stoffel Vandoorne last season. Magnussen has described Button as a 'complete driver'.
