Major alterations to get underway at Interlagos

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

The Interlagos circuit in Brazil is set to undergo a major face lift in time for next seasons Grand Prix. The local government is set to fork out $80 million to revamp the pit and paddock complex at the famous circuit.

Work has already begun at the circuit with it being fully resurfaced in time for the seasons race. The improvements at the circuit should help the drainage issues that have been a problem at the venue for many years.

In previous years the weather has played a key factor in the outcome of the Grand Prix. The Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos has a contract to host a race until the end of the 2020 season. The pit entrance will be changed ahead of the seasons race as it has been a cause for concern for a number of years as the pit entry goes into the final turn onto the pit-straight.
