(Williams Martini Racing)
The Williams Martini Racing team have had an incredible first half of 2014 season having taken three podium finishes in a row as Valtteri Bottas finished on the podium in Austria, Silverstone and Germany. The Grove based outfit scored 135 point's so far in 2014 and headed into the Summer break with one of the strongest all round packages.
Felipe Massa believes that they should be able to sustain their momentum in the second half of the season as the Brazilian feels that the FW36 will be well suited to the characteristics of the Spa Francorchamps circuit as well as the following race in Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. Bottas and Massa have shown that the car has fantastic straight line speed and they proved this when they locked out the front row for the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.
Massa also feels that circuits such as Interlagos in Brazil, Austin in Texas and possibly the Yas Marina Bay circuit in Abu Dhabi which will host the season finale and is worth double points will suit the Williams car.
Massa also feels the team will be in a position to overhaul Red Bull who are currently 84 points ahead of Williams in the Constructors champion echoing the sentiment of Williams deputy team principal Claire Williams who earlier this season targeted a second place finish in the Constructors championship for the team.
The Grove outfit lost third place in the championship to Ferrari in Hungary last time out however the team felt that they would struggle to be competitive at the Hungaroring. Ferrari are just seven point's ahead of the Williams team.
The Williams team are just one of three team's along with the Mercedes and Ferrari who have scored point's in every Grand Prix so far this season. The team will be hoping to continue this trend for the rest of the season.
The 2014 season has seen the Mercedes AMG F1 Team win all but two Grand Prix with Infiniti Red Bull Racing taking two race wins in Canada and last time out in Hungary so it is very likely that we will see a Williams take victory this season as they have an extremely strong package both in terms of their Mercedes power unit and the performance of the car as it is extremely aerodynamically efficient.
